NTC Tech-Connect Day 2 and that’s a Wrap

Yes that’s a wrap after a day and a half at Nutanix HQ in San Jose where we got introduced to up coming features in the Nutanix portfolio. Giving feedback to the various Product Owners and engineering teams. Let’s say there is some exciting stuff coming down the pipeline.

Day 2 only being a half day we had, Flow networking, Files and Object Storage Finishing with the Kubernetes Platfrom.

Flow has been an interesting technology to follow and the introduction of Nutanix XI Leap when the company provided DR as a service really honed this technology to enable it to truly span networks re using IP addresses and enabling true DR as a service. This technology has been brought fully into the platform enabling customers to natively implement advanced and complex networks truly in software. No longer do we have to fully relay on the core network infrastructure to provide this network segmentation, just provide a connection and we can handle it.

Flow also enables you to fully integrate across clouds with the portfolio for Hybrid cloud.

Next up we had Nutanix Files, currently using this technology in many Citrix VDI deployments giving optimal logon times and helping with DR and global deployments. Some interesting updates coming in this space, not to mention all the file analytics that you have out f the box. It’s a no brainer to test as you get a set allocation of space with your license, trust me when you see it you will be all in.

Then we had all the updates on Object storage and sounded like a global namespace can be created replicated to any S3 buckets with all the usual security that can be put in place here. Honestly this was a bit outside my comfort zone as Object storage is not something I use to much of but there was good feedback and questions from the PM’s form the guys who are using this in their customer deployments.

Finishing with Kubernetes platform as Nutanix give you the option to run all your Kubernetes work loads on the nutanix infrastructure enabling you to manage exciting workloads and run your new ones on Nutanix.

It wasn’t all work as I took a trip to one of the largest shopping centers in California , where you could pick up a car – motor bike. So it shouldn’t been a uprise to see what looked like two donkeys walking towards each other – which of course was two very real looking robots.

So 15 Years of Nutanix and I’ve been in and around the technology for over 10 years and the innovation I’ve seen over this time has been truly amazing. Looking forward to the next 5 see where it brings us with the unleashing of AI who knows!
