After a number of years of holding the Citrix User Group Ireland in Dublin, it was time to take the show on the road. This involved a few hours train ride up north to Belfast to meet with the Citrix community there, we have a few regulars in Dublin that always make the trip down to see us, so was great to meet them in there home city.
There was some top talent on the agenda with Citrix CTA,CTP the EMEA Technologists team and industry veteran bringing the event to a close with a very interesting discussion. “Is it really ever going to be the year of VDI”

It all kicked off with some very tasty bacon & sausage baps and coffee to get us started, which gave us time to meet everyone as they arrived.

I kicked off preceding to a full house followed sharply by Michael O’Dea CTA and Shane O’Neill CTP giving us a very engaging presentation The DOs and DONTs of a successful EUC project! I really enjoy these guys presenting together and Michael always has some great slides which always get a laughs.

Next up we had the Citrix Technologists team with part two of there deep dive into Citrix cloud and Azure AD, this time it was Azure AD / Hybrid Join. They went into several different scenarios depending on if the physical device is hybrid-joined and also the VDA and all the different piece of the puzzle of modern management.

Thanks to our sponsors ControlUp where Llindell gave a great demo of all the great and new features like scoot bees and the new SAS monitoring console called solve. There was a lot of discussions had and some very interested customers.

After Coffee the ever entering James Rankin CTP scared the crap out of us with is very in depth Security presentation and what and how things can go horribly wrong if an hacker can move through your network from EUC environments, he did give some really good pointers on how to help fix so all good .

Then bringing things to a close was Nigel Woods , with an engaging discussion on the typical questions he gets from companies when he out speaking to IT staff and there concerns. Lots of loaded questions which sparked some great discussions.

Then it was time to head down to grab a bit and a few drinks, to continue the discussions and to catch up with some of the new customers and partners that attended, get some feedback on the event.
IF you want to get a feel for some of the presentations I have dropped them in a shared folder :
